Fifth Grade

Ms. Kranich

My name is Terri Kranich, I go by Ms. K in the classroom.  I’ve been involved in education since 2001.  Having taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, technology, and 5th grade classes since 2004. My career began as an instructional aide working with K/1 students in reading assistance. Copper Basin School has been my home for the past 9 years.  My son began school here in kindergarten and is now in the 4th grade.  The experiences I have had in past career paths have helped make me the person I am today: caring, empathetic, and wanting to make a difference in the lives of those I have the privilege to work with.

Ms. Gagen

My name is Kaitlin Gagen and I attended Arizona state university and graduated with a Bachelor in Elementary Education. I am highly qualified in science and I have taught a year of 7th grade science as well. I recently moved to Florence with 2 other elementary teachers and we are constantly bouncing teaching ideas off of each other. I was raised in Queen Creek, Arizona so I am familiar with the small town vibe. I love to learn new things and I am always willing to talk about the popular books that just came out. I am a fan of visiting museums, especially ones all over the country. I have been to the Smithsonian, Colorado’s Natural History, Canada’s Natural History, a Canadian boating museum, and many more. I am excited to teach at Copper Basin for the rest of the year. Go Dust Devils!

Ms. Dixon
I grew up in Brainerd, Minnesota. After high school, I was fortunate and secured a position at the hospital in Brainerd and worked there for 18 years. Eventually, I went back to school and graduated with a BA in Organizational Management and Communication. I moved to Alaska in December of 1991. While there, I decided to pursue a career in education. I graduated from the University of Alaska with my Bachelors of Education degree in May of 1996, followed by earning my Masters of Education degree at Grand Canyon University of Phoenix. I taught in Alaska for 17 years, the last 15 at Kenai Middle School serving 6th-8th grades. I have taught Language Arts, Reading, Social Studies, Life Skills, and Leadership. Alaska was a wonderful place for me to live, but I love the warm weather and sunshine of Arizona!! I enjoy teaching at my neighborhood school!
