First Grade

Mrs. Callahan

This is my 23rd year of teaching. I have been here at Copper Basin for ten years. I began as the technology teacher for the school in 2007, and moved to first grade six years ago. I have been married for 29 years, and have three children. My bachelor degrees in education and English are from Concordia New York. I received a Master’s from the University of Phoenix in 2003 in curriculum and technology. On October 4, 2016, I received a Master’s in curriculum and instructions with an emphasis in reading from Concordia Portland.

Ms. Huston

My name is Mrs. Huston. I started in FUSD in 2008 as a Kinder teacher for Magma Ranch.  I then moved to first grade for the next six years.  During this time, I held the position of student council adviser and team lead.  In 2015, I transferred to CCR as a mentor and continued to teach first grade. In 2016, I decided to give 5th grade a try, as an ELA teacher.  Although I loved the kiddos at that age, first grade still had my heart.  I am excited to be back in a first grade classroom here at Copper Basin. In 2016, I started my doctoral journey and will be completed in January of 2020.  I live San Tan Valley with my husband and four boys who all attend school in FUSD.
