Second Grade

Mr. Lawrence

This is my second year teaching a Copper Basin K8.  I currently have a Bachelor degree in Child and Family Development and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education.  My goal was to always teach the younger grades.  I feel if they learned how to respect themselves, the teachers, and fellow students they will be able to succeed in anything they want.  I am married and have been for 22 Years, my wife is also a teacher and has been teaching for 25 years.  I have one son that is graduating from Poston Butte this year, and will start at Embry-Riddle in Prescott this coming Fall.  We are all Native Arizonians, I was born in Tucson and raised up in Pinetop – Lakeside.    I have self-published two children’s books called the Adventure of Geoffrey and Chongo.  The stories started out as ways to remember my family while I was deployed.  When I returned from my first deployment, someone told me I should publish them, so I did.  I retired from the U.S. Army in May 2015 with 22 years of serving our Country.  Now I get to start serving our Community here in Copper Basin.

Mrs. Redd

This is my first year teaching here at Copper Basin. I graduated from Arizona State University with my bachelor’s degree in Educational Studies. I have always had a passion for working with children, and I am enjoying my time here in 2nd grade. I live here in San Tan Valley with my husband and 2 dogs, and I’m happy to be serving the community of Copper Basin.
Ms. Copeland

I have been a physical education teacher, teaching kindergarten through eighth grade, for fourteen years, as well as coached many sports.  I had a teaching degree and had planned to teach second grade but somehow got sidetrack into P.E. The last four years I have been teaching in different districts learning as much as I could and was finally sure that I wanted to be a second grade teacher.  I am blessed to be here and enjoy it very much. I have a B.A. in Education, and a Master’s Degree.  I have a few other things also on the side.  I am interested in anything that helps my children be the best they can be. I have lived in Arizona since I was four years old. I flew for American Airlines when I was twenty –one. I have two wonderful grown children and two grandchildren.  I love life and helping children become all that they can be.
